vlogging tips complete guide

The Secret of Successful Vlogging [Ultimate Guide] No ratings yet.

I know working on YouTube with less number of subscribers is hard…

Because you are continuously producing the content for gaining the fans and popularity but it seems like only your content is missing the viewers…

Yes, it is because you have not many subscribers so people are not getting your videos on their home page of YouTube.

This is the reason most of the Vloggers stop making videos in the first 6-7 months of their journey due to less or no results…

Here’s the Reason:

Most of the people are inspired by the other Vloggers in the industry and after buying a good camera they quickly start recording videos without understanding anything…

I know it’s very simple to make a Vlog but you need to know the very important aspects of vlogging for getting thousands of views on every video you upload, on every channel you start…

Here I am going to tell you the complete factors of Vlogging step by step…

Know Your Character First:

This is the very common mistake in the new Vloggers that in every video they come up with different character…

I mean in the first video you can see them as a funny guy and in the very next video, they are pretending to be a serious person having much interest in politics…

You actually need to know your character first before uploading any video, that either you are going to be funny, serious, innocent or sarcasm person…

So, after deciding your role that you can do better or I mean you might be already getting compliments from your friends when you do that role…

Now you need to stick with that character on your channel in every single video.

I mean if you have selected to be funny then no matter your topic of the video is serious, breathtaking you are going to be funny…

Because this will help you in making the unique content and channel that everybody remembers with your character and share your videos that check out the attempt of this guy on specific topic…

I hope now you understand how important it is to know your character first…

Understand your Topic:

This one is a bit controversial topic because some professionals make videos on every topic with the same character but others stick with the one topic…

Let me give you the quick example:

You must have seen the videos of a person who records on every topic like politics, sports, technology and more but people love to watch his videos because of his attempt (character).

On the other hand, you have also seen some videos from a big channel which is only based on one topic like phone reviews, dog training and more…

Here’s the Hack:

When you are new you have to stick with just one topic that is also yours favorite because working on too many topics will make you confuse…

In a nutshell: You can never produce quality content when working on too many topics…

So, start with one topic and when you are going perfectly with that one or people are continuously watching your videos now you can start working on similar topics…

When you have changed the topic or adds the new one then after analyzing the stats, if that one is going well keep working on it otherwise add the new one…

This is how you can make an identity on that specific topic and stand out your YouTube channel.

Again I must tell you that it’s important to start a channel with a purpose of providing quality content around a single topic for getting noticed and grow your channel.

Now let’s move to the technical stuff…

Do Some Keyword Research:

In this step, you will find out that how much people are interested to watch videos on your decided topic…

After selecting the topic you just have to put your main topic keyword in the tool and it will give you the estimate that how much people are searching for it on YouTube every month.

You can use this tool for free here

Let’s suppose with me:

That your channel’s topic is dog training so you will put the keyword “dog training” in the tool and here are the results…

vlogging keyword research

You can see that 60 thousand people are searching for this single keyword and other keywords have different volumes too…

Pretty impressive! Right…?

There is a lot of potential on this topic because a lot of people are searching for these phrases that you can use in your video’s title and appear in YouTube search for getting maximum views…

But if you are working on the trends like news, politics that you don’t need to know the monthly volume but just the past 3-4 days results of those phrases…

Then you can use the Google trends it will tell you how hot the topic right now is, try it here….

So, in this way, you can measure the potential of viewers on every topic and just start the channel on the topic which is searched by most of the people for better channel results…

By producing quality content around most searched topics you can easily start getting a lot of views on your videos.

Create Long Videos for Trust:

Believe me, Google platforms are very intelligent now and you can no more dodge them with manipulated titles and descriptions for attracting the search views….

They are now totally working on the user engagement…

It means if you are making the long in-depth videos then your users will stay on your channel for more duration and they will rank you in related videos and search listings where all the traffic is actually landing.

This will not only help you in getting more views but your viewers will be happy to watch that much information about one topic in a single video…

Here’s the strategy:

Make videos minimum of 10-15 minutes after selecting the complete information about that one topic in which your viewers are interested…

Also, you can make a playlist of videos and number them in the format of episodes that your viewers will watch 3-4 videos rather than one…

The more you can make them stay on your videos the more viewers, engagement and ad revenue you will get…

If you can master this method of staying the users on your videos then you can grow your channel in very less time.

First, 15 seconds of videos are Gold:

According to a study held by YouTube, they have analyzed that users decide to watch the video in first 15-20 seconds of the videos…

Most of the time if they watched the first 15 seconds of the video they will watch the complete video.

So, it clearly means you as a video maker have to hook your viewers in the first 15-20 seconds then they will watch the complete video.

I mean in first seconds of the video you have to build the interest of the viewer by stating their problem again or promising them the solution they are looking for…

Let me give you a quick example:

Suppose with me for a minute that you are watching videos on dog training…

In the first video, the Vlogger said: “My name is John and I will tell you how to train dog”

In second video he states: “Are you trying to train your dog but he’s not listening, I am going to show you the complete method step by step”

So, if you are like the most of the people you will find the second video more interesting right? Because it states your problem clearly and promising you the solution as well…

This is how you can make your videos more interesting at the starting and hook the users for watching your videos complete.

Also, the example I showed you is just one method and you can use another kind of hooks as well but the thing is must use at least one technique of hooking your viewers.

Write a Catchy Title:

When the user is searching for the videos on your channel topic they will get a huge list of results and in seconds they will decide that which video they are going to watch…

Same goes with the related videos section of YouTube that there is a big list from which user will decide the next video…

If your title is not catching the eye of your users then you are not going anywhere because they will decide to watch the other videos.

Honestly, it’s an art to write the catchy headlines that you will learn with time but here’s the example for clearing the discussion.

Suppose after searching “dog training” 2 results come up with titles:

“Dog Training at home complete guide”

“Secrets of complete dog training in 30 days (Beginners Guide)”

Again the second one is more clickable and will find the attention of most of the people…

If you are not writing the catchy headlines then, believe me, you are leaving the big game on the table but if you are writing the good headlines then only this will bring you a lot of traffic.

Most of the time for every content that I am going to publish online I write more than 8 headlines and select the best one which will get the attention of my users.

You can also check the most shared content at Buzzsumo and copy their headlines for creating your video headline. it will save you energy and give you perfect results.

Video Description is not dead:

As I mentioned above that YouTube is no more using the just title and description for the ranking factors in search but now they are using the user engagement as well…

But still, I showed you how the title can give you the more viewers, now I must tell you that description is not dead and why you should pay close attention to it.

Here’s the Catch:

Most of the traffic on YouTube comes from the related videos and they can only understand that your video is related to the other videos by checking the video details.

Yes, the video description also helps YouTube to understand your video exact topic.

So, I must suggest you write at least 200 words video description by just including your main keyword 1-2 times (adding keywords and appearing for them in search is dead actually)…

Writing brief description will give them the clear details about your video and start ranking you in related videos and search listings… This is how description helps you in getting more views.

Thumbnails, don’t forget Thumbnails:

Similar to the title/headline of the video thumbnails on YouTube also plays important role in getting the users from related videos and search listing.

I am not talking about click bait here, as you are going to provide the quality videos but if someone is not watching it then all your effort will go in vain…

So, it’s really important to optimize your videos for the better CTR (click through rate as well).

Here’s the hack:

As you are investing your time in making the title, also do the same for thumbnail…

You have to paint very attractive thumbnails with their problem “like dog training” written again on them so they only want to watch your videos only.

Again, this is just one method some people use the best image of their video as a thumbnail and others make the shocking faces for better CTR.

Now, you know how to be focused on thumbnails too instead of allowing YouTube to select one random image from your video.

Make your channel Look “Brand”:

When someone arrives at your channel you must have to give them the feeling that it’s a brand and they can trust on your present and upcoming content…

It’s not important for the channels who are around just for some months but in long-term, users notice this and it has a direct impact on your subscribers and likes.

So, design your channels header image professionally or hire a logo designer from freelancing websites and they will give you the perfect logo in the budget.

In About US page you have written the compelling detail about your channel yourself and your content for better impression on YouTube and your viewers as well.

You also have to make the playlists of your videos for organizing the content in a good way so users will also understand all the topics on which you are working instead of hundreds of videos showing on your channel home.

Channel Trailer should also be made very carefully because thousands of people are going to watch your channel trailer and you have to give them the complete information about your channel in very short duration with a unique style.

Don’t just sit: Promote your Videos

After focusing on all these factors and creating the stunning content for maximum likes, views and shares don’t just sit back and wait for the miracles to happen.

In the starting of your channel when you don’t have many subscribers you have to promote your content on the channels where your audience is already present…

Some of the platforms are common for both of us where you can share your videos and get the good amount of views.

You can join the social media groups related to your channels or videos topic and keep posting there (don’t start with posting links they will ban you).

Start with making connections there and then after some time you can post your informative videos and get the instant viewers. I am using this strategy most of the time and getting good views.

You can search the related websites on the Google and share your video links in the comments section where people are discussing your topic and get the maximum views from them.

But make sure that you are not spamming and also writing the comments there which are helping their audience and for extra information, you are providing your videos so the admin will not delete or ban you from comments…

Reddit is also a perfect platform and getting thousands of views in a matter of days even on your new channels, if you are already the user of Reddit then you know the potential of views…

So, if you are new create the account at Reddit post some good stuff and get the good ratings (link karma) for posting your videos and then post your videos and get the instant views.

You can also share your videos on Forums like Quora where people only come when they don’t find the solution from Google and Bing and ask for the solutions of their problems.

If your videos are solving the problems then you can find the related questions and answer them briefly along with your video link so if they upvote your question the next time new people will see your video in the comments section at top…

And obviously, you will get a lot of traffic from those forums as well…

These are some common channels but if you can search you can find the other groups where your viewers are discussing or sharing their experience and you can get a lot of benefit from them for your YouTube channel.

Final Words:

If you can just implement all these methods in your channel and videos then you are ahead of 80% of the people who are just struggling with the non-quality videos with less attraction.

Now I think you can understand the difference of professional Vlogging.

Again If you are going to make a channel for getting a large amount of audience involved then you have to follow all these professional steps while creating your content…

Otherwise, your viewers will find a reason to not watch your videos again and YouTube will punish you for this when people are bouncing from your content.

So, you have to create the content which sticks your users like the super glue for getting the love of everyone.

The most important thing I can tell you at last that even you are doing everything right It will take time to get you views from YouTube because they will test a lot of things before sending you the quality traffic…

You have to keep creating the quality content with professional camera and soon you will start seeing the results…
